My viewpoint and that of numerous educators have transitioned from equality to equity. Education now serves as a route to justice for everyone.

Equity is about giving the people you love a fighting chance to enjoy the life we all want for ourselves.

Life is a competition. There isn't enough for everyone. Why would I help weak people get stronger, especially if I don't know them?
Empathy is a basic human quality that contributes to our prosperity as a society. When we choose not to use our empathy toward others, we disconnect ourselves from the people who can strengthen our position in a competitive world.
Equal supports produces
unfair results.
Affirmative Action produces equity. Everyone gets the support they need.
Address the cause. Remove the systemic barrier, then no aids are required.
